Centennial Livestock Auction is located at the eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, and the western edge of the grasslands and farming area. Our location is one of our greatest assets; we draw livestock from Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Western Nebraska. Yearly sales that average 200, 000+ head make us one of the largest sale barns in Colorado.



At Centennial Livestock Auctions, we sell cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, and horses. We hold auctions every Wednesday to Friday, with monthly special sales featuring Holstein/Holstein cross steers, and bred cattle. Our monthly hay sale has grown in leaps and bounds, auctioning 600-1000 tons of hay (drawn from 3 states) per sale. In addition we hold five consignment sales per year (selling everything from tractors to collectibles), and other farm, household, and real estate auctions. We assist with sales at the Colorado state fair, and are involved with fund raising sale for both state and local organizations. In 1999 Centennial Livestock Auctions held 214 sales!

Our business is owned and operated by the Kruse family, who take and active part in the business. We currently have 32 full-time and 20 part-time employees.

Centennial Livestock Auction needed to update our computer system to be Y2K compliant. After viewing several options, we chose General Computer Systems to fulfill our data processing needs. We had wanted to incorporate the auction ring, scale, clerk, and pen back with the office, and were able to accomplish this with the Marketmaster system. We also had a need to incorporate the brands onto the purchaser's invoice. The brand drawing software provided by General Computer Systems allows us to keep our customer's brands on file, and to input new ones as needed. The brands are clear and easy to read. Our buyers love it!

Since our system was installed, we have used this system for our livestock (cattle, sheep, goats, hogs, horses, and llamas), our miscellaneous auctions, machinery auctions, and our hay auctions. The staff at General Computer Systems has provided excellent support for any change requests or minor problems we have had. We have added other programs and features (such as their integrated accounting package), and have been very satisfied with the end result. Other auction barns have come to watch our system at work, and we have recommended General Computer Systems to them. We are extremely pleased with the system, and are amazed at the options available to us. It is easy to use, and has certainly made our auctions run very smoothly.
